We are thrilled to officially introduce SOF beef to our community as well as share some great updates on the horses both in our barn and at their new homes. Keep reading to find out!
We raise our high quality beef on the XL Ranch in northeast Nampa, Idaho. The XL Ranch has been in our family since the 1960’s when our grandparents, Russell and Marie Clayton, started raising beef with the help of lots of friends and family including their son, Bill, and daughter, Kathy.
Over the past few years, we have enjoyed learning from Uncle Bill, and, with his guidance, this is officially Sterling Oaks Farm’s first year raising and finishing our own beef. We focus on managing a small herd of high quality, pasture-fed beef each year.

In addition to raising our 2021 beef herd, we have lots of updates on SOF horses! We said farewell to our last two horses for sale, My Special Invite ("Ida") and SOF Heavens To Betsy ("Freya"). Ida traveled across the country and is all settled in to her new home in Tennessee. Freya went to a local home in Nampa, and both mares are being showered with love and attention. Congratulations to our newest members of the SOF horse community!
One of our mares, Radical Blues, finished up her training with Kyle Nauman of Nauman Show Horses and is back home with us. We are so happy with the progress she made under Kyle's guidance, and she is really stepping into her role as a dependable mount for all levels of rider. We have some exciting plans for her in 2022!
SOF horses have been very busy at their new and old homes these last couple months. Thank you to all the owners who have sent us updates, photos, and videos. We love seeing and sharing them!
